How to Edit EPUB Books in Notepad or any other Editors

If you Downloaded the EPUB Book in the file format of .epub and unable to edit the files of this EPUB Book then this post is for you. Today, i will tell you,  How to edit or modify the EPUB files in Notepad or with any editor you want.

Basically, EPUB file (package) are also the compressed file with the filename extension ".epub" like compressed zip files. It is just replacement of filename extension from ".zip" to ".epub" . Basically, EPUB package contains the multiple number of files in the different formats like HTML, XHTML, XML, JPG, PNG and etc etc. If you rename the EPUB file extension from "epub" to ".zip" then you can open the newly compressed renamed package ".zip" by any file compression utility or software like most popular " winrar " .
I will tell you how to modify the individual file in the EPUB file pacakge without affecting the other files. I hope you will understand easily. We will use the one utility named "Tweak epub". Tweak epub is the utility which allow you to adjustment of individual files under the EPUB package and modifying the files without affecting the others files.

First of all, download Tweak epub utility from here Download Tweak epub . You dont have any need to install this utility, just place the downloaded "tweak_epub.exe" file in your computer in any place and run or execute this executable file. When you execute or run this executable file then this type of window will open as given in screenshot named "Open EPUB" . After it Just Open your EPUB file.



After opened the EPUB Package in the Tweak EPUB, the new window will open with the complete set of files which are in the EPUB package. It will Look like this as given in the screenshot.








Just select any file from the set of files for editing and press the "Edit File" Button. This file will open the notepad.











The File which is opened in notepad will look like given in the screenshot.














Edit in the file and when done or finished the editing of file, just save the file and close the notepad editor. If you want to edit the file in other editor like notepad++ , windows text editor then just click on the choose editor to change.

    If compare the Tweak EPUB and Sigil, which one is better?

      To convert to different formats one of the best programs is Calibre, is free, it also has a very good epub editor "Edit E-book", but with the above program "Tweak epub" you can edit the html code and the other, Notepad + + in one of the best editors, also free.
